Bacon Candy

Bacon Candy Recipe

Special equipment: You’ll need a pastry brush for this recipe.
Game plan: You can spice up your candied bacon by adding chili powder, paprika, pepper, or any other spices that you like

1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
About 1/2 pound bacon
Heat the oven to 350°F and arrange a rack in the middle.
Mix together the brown sugar and maple syrup in a medium bowl; set aside.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the bacon strips side by side. Using a pastry brush, evenly coat both sides of the bacon with the sugar-syrup mixture. (or put mixture on plate and press bacon into it)  Cook until the bacon looks caramelized, about 20 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  I added 1/2 tsp cinammon and 1 tsp Ghiradelli cocoa powder to this mix..:)) Yum
The bacon will caramlize..and then it is done.  OMG is this good!!!!
I used thick uncured bacon..:)
