2 8 oz cans crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1-1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
cinnamon, to taste
1 12 oz can Mountain Dew

pour entire mixture over peaches. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of
the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan
over the t
why the mountain dew? I'd prefer to leave that out
ReplyDeleteYou can use orange juice instead. I have a recipe that is nearly identical except for that difference and it uses apples to make apple dumplings. Making these today! Thanks for the peachy idea!
DeleteThe soda keeps the dough soft like dumplings are supposed to be. Without it, you get hard, dry dumplings.
DeleteI like the idea of orange juice better than Mountain Dew..thanks!!
ReplyDeleteso i made this for my mom and she asked me to make 12 dozen for church
ReplyDeleteDo you have the nutrition?
ReplyDeleteI cut WAY down on the butter and sugar. I smeared soft butter on the bottom and sides of the pan and put a small dab of butter on top of each roll before baking. I sprinkled a cinnamon/sugar mixture inside each crescent roll and on top after rolling up the peaches inside. (I used thawed frozen peaches) I did submit and use the Mtn. Dew. It was delicious!
ReplyDeleteNice! I'm trying this for labor day... i was just wondering if i could use frozen peaches, thanks for the tip of thawing them. :-)
DeleteI have tried using something other than Mountain Dew, and the flavor is just not the same. In my families opinion, Mountain Dew is the key ingredient for the flavor.

ReplyDeleteI thought 40 minutes was too long to cook. Mine came out very brown. Pulled it out shortly after 30 minutes
ReplyDeletecan you use canned peaches?
ReplyDeleteYou can use any fruit you want. I use Sierra Mist. Not very good without the soda...it keeps the rolls from becoming hard and drying out. I also put a dab of butter on the inside and sugar and cinnamon...I cut the outside butter and sugar in half.
ReplyDeleteoh..on my comment about any fruit...make sure you drain it first. Frozen needs to be thawed first. I have used apples and blackberries, but I think you could use with any fruit you like. I only eat fresh peaches..hate the canned ones. I have seen this recipe with pie filling as well, but have not tried that. I am not sure cinnamon would be good with cherries, blueberries, or strawberries. I bet this would be good with drained canned pineapples..if my daddy could still eat food, I would cook that for him! Maybe some chopped cherries mixed in with the pineapple.
